With kayaks, canoes, work gloves and one of the company’s biggest trucks – more than a dozen JubileeScape volunteers joined in a “spring cleaning” of the coastline waters of Weeks Bay. Each year the Weeks Bay Foundation picks up more than 1000 pounds of trash stuck along shorelines and accessible only by water. Volunteers were shuttled upstream in canoes and kayaks and deposited their trash “finds” to a barge-turned-floating dumpster provided by Thompson Engineering in lieu of hauling all the way back to shore. Tires, plastic bottles, coolers and even a toy plastic lawnmower were scooped up this year – and off to Fairhope’s Landfill in the JubileeScape truck. We’re proud to support this wonderful organization and its work protecting the lands and waters of our precious South Alabama coastline.
